2014 STEM Bottle Rocket Launch (and water gun demo) 7/15/2014

5...4...3...2...1...  It's that time of year again!

Using an empty 2L soda bottle Scouts will build and launch a rocket.

The idea is for the boys to do most of the work.  If parents want to build their own, we'll have time to put them to a test.   Bonus points for anyone who builds a rocket with a parachute that works.

For complete instructions, see the 98_waterbottlerocket.pdf .   The rocket will need a little weight added to the nose to prevent it from spinning out of control during flight.  There are a lot of Bottle Rocket youtube videos to assist.

WARNING: DO NOT CUT ANY PART OF THE 2L BOTTLE THAT WILL BE PRESSURIZED.  THIS WILL RESULT IN THE ROCKET BLOWING UP DURING LAUNCH.

Where: Independence Middle School

When: 7/15 from 5:45 - 8:00 (launches start at 6:00)

What to expect:  Soaked Scouts

Bring: Rocket and high capacity water gun
