Robert and I are turning over as Cubmaster.  He has done a great job the past two years, but it looks like the Army has other plans for him.  I'm looking forward to helping the Pack go and getting involved again and keeping our Pack great!

Great Job:  The pinewood derby was a huge success due to the organizational efforts of the committee, Jr. Webelos den, and other adult volunteers that put in a few hours helping set up, run the event, and clean up.  Thank you!   The food sales raked in a whopping $26 profit and we’re pleased to announce that all of the hot dogs were consumed (the goal was to break even).  The official results will be posted sometime this week.

Announcements:  The pack has a few events coming up that I want to make sure everyone knows about.  All of these details will be posted on the near future.

-Pancake Breakfast with the Troop.  Feb 13th.

-Scout Sunday @ Bayside Presbyterian Church.  Feb 14th.

-Blue and Gold.  Feb 27th  in the early evening.  Tickets are $4 per person which include a catered BBQ meal and entertainment.  Rank advancements, district announcements, and entertainment will be provided.  This is one of the best events we put on, don’t miss it.

-District Pinewood Derby race.  March 5th from 8-12am.

-Church Clean Up.  March 12th.  Please come out for at least an hour to support our charter organization.  We get a lot from them, this is one thing that we give back.

-Crossover pack meeting.  On  March 22nd we will be sending the Sr. Webelos off to be Boy Scouts.

Current and Future Open Positions:

Treasurer:  Filled by a Webelos parent who is also a den leader, treasurer for the PTA, and working mom.  Help her out, she has done her duty for the pack.  We would like for a parent from the Tiger/Wolf den to take over this key position.

Awards Chair:  Attend one meeting a month and work with the committee and Cubmaster to ensure the boys get their awards.  No scouting experience needed.  Uniform and training provided.

Asst Cubmaster:  My son has one more year left in the Pack.  I’m glad to keep things moving this year, but I would like to have the help of two other adults, one which would take over as Cubmaster in April 2017.

Webmaster:  We have a “google site” which is not that hard to keep up to date.  If this is something you are good at, let us know and we’ll ask you to keep tabs on our site.

These positions all need to be filled; however, they require the approval of the committee chair and in some cases the church.  Please don’t sit back and watch, Scouting at the Pack and Troop level is a 100% volunteer work.  It is only as good as we make it.

Yours in Scouting,

Cubmaster Rich
