Fall 2013 Family Camp Update!

posted Aug 1, 2013, 3:26 PM by Richard Lebel   [ updated Sep 6, 2013, 6:19 PM ]

Camp Sites  We have been allocated campsites on the A Loop.   Sites will be allocated to families centrally, by the Pack Cub Master (Rich Lebel), and marked by family name.  Each site will be occupied by 2 families.  If you wish to change your allocated site, please approach the Pack Cub Master before making any change.

Parking  Only 2 cars are permitted per camp site.  The only authorized overflow parking is at the main parking area.  The playground is not an authorized overflow and parking here will be at your own risk.

Arrival and Entry  The entry office at First Landing State Park (beach front side) will have a list of families and issue you a car pass. Additional visitors will need to purchase an entry ticket at $5.

Uniforms  Scouts should wear Type B uniform for the daytime activity and Type A for the Saturdayevening Camp Fire and the Sunday Field Service.   Due to the activities being undertaken with the Boy Scouts on the Sat, it is requested that no open-toed footwear (eg. flip flops or sandals) be worn.  It is recommended that Scouts bring water bottles and bug spray for the Troop Activties on Sat pm.

Update (8/27):  We have 21 sites reserved!  15 for Cub Scouts and 6 for the Boy Scouts!  We will be labeling the sites with names once the park opens on 9/13 and ask that you only setup on the site that you are assigned.  A great deal of effort goes in to picking 21 sites in an area that works for the pack.

This year we will be setting aside one site for the kids to play on and for the camp fire.

If you have friends that would like to join you for the weekend, they can also reserve a site or pay $5 and participate in the day time fun.  There should be a few extra sites near us.  This is a recruitment event as well.
