Veterans' Day Parade 2013

Nov. 11: Since 1970, the City of Virginia Beach has been hosting the Veterans Day parade and ceremony to honor and pay tribute to all members of the armed forces. Sponsored by the Hampton Roads Council of Veterans Organizations, the parade begins at 9 a.m. at 16th Street and Atlantic Avenue and ends at the Tidewater Veterans Memorial at 19th Street, across from the Virginia Beach Convention Center. Following the parade, a ceremony will take place at approximately 11 a.m. at the Tidewater Veterans Memorial, where there will be a wreath laying, a salute to veterans and a fly-over.

UPDATE:  Lineup at 8:30 am on 9th and 10th Streets and Atlantic Ave.

Inspection ready Class "A" uniform.  Look your best!

Access to the parade area will be restricted. VBPD will start closing off Atlantic Avenue and 19th Street to the general public at 6:30 AM.

 General Parking will be available at the Convention Center except in the lots designated above. The City may also opening public parking lots (no charge) on Pacific Avenue but you can only use the entrances on 18th and 20th Streets (19th Street will be closed).   The Convention Center and Atlantic Avenue/17th Street (near Dairy Queen) Rest Rooms may not be available that morning - portable toilets will be staged.
Parade Starts at 9:00 am and is about a 30 minute walk.  Wear layers under your Class "A" uniform and bring a jacket and water bottle.  Leaders are encouraged to bring wagons and candy to toss.  

RSVP to your Den Leaders by November 2nd.  If you would like a patch, provide a $5 payment to your Den Leader by November 2nd.
